Digital Art

Below you can find examples of my digital drawings. I am self-taught and have been drawing since I was in sixth grade. I have poured countless hours into practicing, using resources online to better my skills and taking courses, such as a summer course I completed at this The New School in New York City and the Medicine and the Muse program at Stanford University. I am passionate about art and all it has to offer the world and passionate about improving my skills. Lastly, I'm passionate about finding a way to combine it with my other two passions, medicine and helping others. Collaborating with medical  researchers who are doing cutting edge research to contribute to their fields and using my art to help nonprofits that are helping people in my community has been such an incredible journey so far.

Digital Drawing #1

Here is a drawing I did in 2020. I was working on light and conveying emotion and uncertainty to contribute to an emotional depth to my digital art.

Digital Drawing #2

This piece is a part of a series I created that touches on some of life’s daily “battles”. The intention for this piece was to convey the lengths I would go to, in order to ensure the happiness as well as safety of my loved ones. The little candle characters are generally representative of loved ones (the lights of our lives) and were specifically inspired by my two younger brothers. The two little candles want to explore the world, however as candles they are vulnerable to a myriad of things, in this case the rain. For this reason their caretaker is worriedly scanning their surroundings and covering them with a leaf. The scene is meant to communicate the self sacrifice and responsibility that comes with protecting loved ones while also balancing their happiness.

Digital Drawing #3

Here is a drawing I did in 2021. I was working on light again and working on drawing birds in a semirealistic but artistic style.

Digital Drawing #4

Here is a drawing I did in 2021. I was working on a project about genomic mutations post nuclear catastrophe. In the background, I drew a mole that had mutated and now had a symbiotic relationship with a fungi that served to partially inoculate the mole from residual radiation and fallout.  The woman in the drawing is a scientist that is researching these creatures who has also been exposed to the radiation and fallout. She is researching these creatures to see if there is something to be learned for the benefits of future humans from this symbiotic relationship.

Digital Drawing #5

Here is a drawing I did in 2024. This drawing was the final project for the Medicine and the Muse program I attended at Stanford. The assignment was to combine anatomy we had spent two weeks learning about with what was most important to us through an illustration that represented one of our best memories.

Digital Drawing #6

Here is a drawing I did in 2022. That's actually me in three different outfits. Here I was working in expressions and also basing my drawings on an avatar of mine in an online game I play.

Digital Drawing #7

Here is a drawing I did in 202. Here is another one I did also based on an online game. This is one of my favorites because it depicts my character and my brothers' characters in an online game we like to play together when we all get some time free time together.

Digital Drawing #8

Here is a drawing I did in 2021. I was working on facial expressions and making sure that while facial expressions have to convey different emotions, the face must stay consistent which is challenging at times to not let the expression morph the face to the point that the face is not the same face.

Digital Drawing #9

Here is a drawing I did in 2022. I love this one because it is a drawing of me doing one of my favorite things to do: ice skating. I was a competitive ice skater when I was younger and just last year started ice skating again because I missed it so much. I was trying to capture that moment on the ice, either right before you begin or right after, when the spotlight is shining behind you.

Digital Drawing #10

Here is a drawing I did in 2022. This was for a comic I was working on for a storyline a friend and I had developed.

Digital Drawing #11

The intentions for this piece were to represent the experience of receiving or giving “the cold shoulder”. By setting the scene in a cold and barren place I wanted to express the unease and isolated feeling that receiving a cold shoulder can arouse. My intention with placing the sword in the ice was to symbolize the halting of conflict that is forced by ignoring someone. The angels were meant to be a literal representation of a cold shoulder as each sculpture has their shoulder facing the viewer.

Digital Drawing #12

Here is a drawing I did in 2022. This was a drawing I did for a poster for the robotics team at my school. The theme was the future of robotics and the poster was supposed to be an invitation to join the robotics team.

Digital Drawing #13

This is a digital drawing I did for my Hispanic Studies class of a character in a book we read.

Digital Drawing #14

This piece is also part of my series about the daily battles of life. I intended for this work to be a visual representation of the feelings of betrayal and jealousy which can stem from comparing oneself to others. In order to achieve this intention, I decided to work with metaphors (being stabbed in the back) and exaggerations, conveying the magnitude of the emotions rather than a realistic visual portrayal. This was mainly done due to the fact that an individual experiencing these emotions may not appear affected on the outside, but will feel the emotions in an all consuming way internally.

Digital Drawing #15

Here is a really fun drawing I did in 2019. I did this for a Minecraft youtuber I used to watch and he selected it for an online gallery he curated in his Minecraft world of all his favorite digital drawings. The drawing is of his character and incorporates a storyline he had going in his Minecraft world.

Digital Drawing #16

This drawing was a visual representation of a poem that we read in AP American History.

Digital Drawing #17

Here is a drawing I did for my International Baccalaureate Theory of Knowledge class. This class assignment asked us to think about two concepts, evolution and our push for improving technology and artificial intelligence, and the interplay of these.

Digital Drawing #18

Here is an illustration which visually depicts a question that was posed to us in my IB Theory of Knowledge class: How do we define reality and is reality subjective?

Digital Drawing #19

Here is a digital illustration from a collection of works I am completing in my IB Visual Arts HL class. This piece represents the existential struggle of dealing with death and is visually based on the metaphor of dancing with death.

Digital Drawing #20

Here is a drawing I did in 2022. I was working on lighting again and conveying emotion and uncertainty again to contribute to an emotional depth in my digital art. Here, I am using more of a digital painting style.
